Prof. Dr. Kim Soo Yeon Principal Director, Human Resource & Sustainability Division OCI TerraSus

Prof. Dr. Kim Soo Yeon is a dedicated educator, sustainability advocate, and strategic leader with over 20 years of experience across higher education, public enterprises, and the non-profit sector. Since 2026, she has served as Principal Director of the Human Resource & Sustainability Division at OCI TerraSus in Sarawak, Malaysia. In this role, she oversees HR, corporate services, ESG initiatives, and integrated communications. She has played a pivotal role in establishing the company's CSR and ESG frameworks, enhancing governance, and implementing greenhouse gas (GHG) management systems to support sustainable business practices. Prof. Dr. Kim holds a Ph.D. in Sociology of Education from Sungkyunkwan University, South Korea, where she is a Visiting Professor alongside her role as Adjunct Professor at Universiti Malaya. Her academic expertise spans international educational assessments (TIMSS and PISA), comparative education, and multilevel data analysis, supporting evidence-based policy and cross-cultural collaboration. Beyond her corporate and academic work, Prof. Dr. Kim champions university-industry partnerships, strategic branding—including a semiconductor joint venture with Tokuyama Corporation—and inclusive leadership. She is deeply committed to empowering female professionals and supporting marginalised communities, including students with disabilities, through equitable access to education and development opportunities.
