Tatsuhiro KATO Japan

Mr. Kato began his career in environmental education as a Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) volunteer in Jordan, where he engaged in environmental education activities with local communities. This experience shaped his belief in the importance of learning through hands-on experiences and dialogue. At JEEF, he works with environmental education practitioners and professionals in Japan and abroad to promote environmental education that emphasizes experiential learning and dialogue. He is particularly interested in connecting diverse people and practices to foster mutual learning and collective action toward a sustainable society. Since 2022, he has also served as Deputy Director of the ESD Resource Center of Japan, established by Japan’s Ministry of the Environment and Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT), where he supports ESD initiatives and networks across Japan
