Ms Gloria Tan is Director of the 3P Network Division at Singapore’s National Environment Agency (NEA), where she leads efforts to build public trust, strengthen stakeholder partnerships and foster shared ownership of environmental outcomes across the People, Public and Private sectors. Working with communities, businesses, government agencies, educational institutions and other stakeholders, she drives engagement, partnership and communications strategies that encourage participation and mobilise collective environmental action.
A key area of her work is engaging schools, Institutes of Higher Learning and youths to strengthen environmental awareness and create opportunities for young people to translate learning into meaningful action. Through partnerships and ground-up initiatives, NEA seeks to complement environmental learning with real-world opportunities that encourage sustainable behaviours, environmental stewardship and active participation in Singapore’s sustainability journey.
Prior to her current role, Gloria served as Executive Director of Singapore’s Public Hygiene Council, where she advanced national initiatives including the Keep Singapore Clean Movement and was a key spokesperson on public hygiene and cleanliness issues. She has spoken at local, regional and international conferences on public health and environmental communications, behaviour change, community mobilisation and citizen engagement.
With more than two decades of leadership experience across the public and private sectors, Gloria brings a multidisciplinary perspective to environmental engagement. She is particularly interested in how partnerships between government, educators, communities and youths can strengthen environmental literacy and, importantly, help turn knowledge and awareness into sustained action.
